Japan Rail Pass can be purchased from klook or Japan Rail Pass Reservation. Prepare your passport and credit card in advance.

When you arrive in Japan, head to the JR-designated ticket office and get the rail pass. Bring your passport and booking confirmation.

You can choose a rail pass based on a combination of the following varied period and seat type.

Japan Rail Pass holders can unlimited travel on the following railway lines, buses and ferries, mostly related to the JR groups.

⚫︎ JR Local Buses (except highway buses)

⚫︎ JR BRT (bus rapid transit) Lines

⚫︎ JR West Miyajima Ferry

⚫︎ Tokyo Monorail

The following non-JR lines have designated stations where you can get on or off on the way with Japan Rail Pass, if you continue travel to/from the JR lines.

⚫︎ Aoimori Railway (Aomori – Hachinohe): stopovers are available only at Aomori, Noheji and Hachinohe.

⚫︎ Ainokaze Toyama Railway (Toyama – Kurikara): stopovers are available only at Toyama and Takaoka.

⚫︎ IR Ishikawa Railway (Kurikara – Tsubata): stopovers are available only at Tsubata.

⚫︎ Hapi-Line Fukui (Tsuruga – Echizen-Hanando): stopovers are available only at Tsuruga and Echizen-Hanando.

Japan Rail Pass holders can use the following JR trains:

⚫︎ Rapid and local trains

With a special ticket issuable only to Japan Rail Pass holders, use the Shinkansen Nozomi or Mizuho.

Japan Rail Pass holders can receive discounts or other benefits by presenting the rail pass at the designated facilities, such as museums, restaurants and shopping malls. Check the Japan Rail Pass official website.
