From Sapporo, take the local train to Naie (奈井江駅: 1hr 20min) via Iwamizawa, then transfer to the Urausu Municipal Bus for Emiru (えみる: 24min) at the former Urausu Station (浦臼駅).

⚫︎ For Tsurunuma Park, get off the bus at Tsurunuma-koen-mae (鶴沼公園前). There are also buses to the Emiru via Tsurunuma-koen-mae from Sunagawa and Takikawa Stations on the JR Hakodate Line.

Just a short walk from the Michi-no-eki Tsurunuma, you will find the white torii (shrine gate) on Route 275. This hillside shrine is famous for both its lovely ezo-engosaku (corydalis ambigua) and katakuri (dogtooth violet) bloom in the forest from late April to early May. You will see adorable Ezo-risu (chipmunks).

Behind the shrine is a pleasant Ikoi-no-mori Park, with idyllic rural and mountain views. A perfect place for a picnic.

After a day of play, head to this small public onsen overlooking Tsurunuma Park. The on-site michi-no-eki (roadside station) serves up botan soba and snacks for its use of local foodstuffs.
