Toyoura Onsen Shiosai

15min walk from Toyoura Station

About 1km west of JR Toyoura Station, this port-side, boat-shaped onsen has modern indoor and open-air baths looking out to the sea. It also has a comfort private bath, hotel, resting room and restaurant.

Rebunge Coast

礼文華海岸

25min walk from Okishi or Rebun Station

A 4.5km scenic coastline between JR Rebun Station and JR Okishi Station in Toyoura is known as Rebunge-kaigan. The coast boasts pleasant sandy beaches and rugged headlands along the Uchiura Bay. More or halfway between both train stations, you will find the pleasant beaches and campsites. A historic park on the small cape, Kamuichashi Ruins Park (カムイチャシ史跡公園) has good views of the coastline and the bay.

Koboro Station & Iwaya Kannon

小幌駅・岩屋観音

18min by train from Toyoura Station

Located in the 80m-long gap between the two tunnels, Koboro is one of Japan’s most hidden train stations and practically only accessible by local train. From the platform, a 40-minute return walk leads to the mysterious Koboro Cave facing the tiny harbor, where the Iwaya Kannon statues are enshrined. Alternatively, there is also a short path down to Buntaro Coast from the station. Both coasts cannot be visited in winter.

Toyoura Onsen Shiosai

15min walk from Toyoura Station

About 1km walk west of Toyoura Station, the Shiosai has modern baths and 10 guest rooms overlooking the ocean. On-site restaurant serves local scallops (hotate) and pork. There is also a sandy beach.
