Travel by Local Train: Tokyo – Niigata

japan, niigata, river-5165642.jpg

Tokyo to Niigata by local train. This is the main conventional line connecting Kanto Region on the Pacific Ocean side and the Joetsu Region on the Sea of Japan side. The highlight is between Takasaki and Echigo-Yuzawa, which crosses the Echigo Mountains with long tunnels and loop lines. It is also a good idea to take a ferry from Niigata to Sado Island.
