Sapporo Kaitakushi Beer Urisabakisho

(札幌開拓使麦酒売捌所) Opposite the west side of the atrium at the corner of Renga-kan (レンガ館) red brick shopping complex, this small direct-sales shop offers tasty craft beer for ¥250 per glass. The red brick buildings were used as Sapporo Beer brewery until 1989. There are a limited number of tables inside the shop (plus open-air tables during the warmer months). It is open from 11am to 8pm.

Taj Mahar

On the basement of the atrium, this Indian restaurant boasts spicy Sapporo-style soup curry, tandoor chicken, biriani (mixed rice dish) and kabab (roast chicken). Good decoration and staff speaks English.

Former Residence of Nagayama Takeshiro and Former Dormitory for Mitsubishi Mining Company

Immediately outside the Sapporo Factory, this Japanese-Western eclectic building (旧永山武四郎邸及び旧三菱鉱業寮) was first built as a residence of Nagayama Takeshiro (director of the Tondenhei agriculture soldiers) in 1877. During the early Showa period, the Mitsubishi Mining Company added a green dormitory.

You can see the atmospheric interior, such as tatami-mat rooms and round windows.

It has a pleasant cafe of Nagayama Rest (ナガヤマレスト) on the ground floor. More info sapporoshi-nagayamatei.jp
